I took this photograph on Mother's Day, 2003. My brother flew in from LA, my sister flew in from Albuquerque and
we surprised my Mom and Dad by showing up on their doorstep and taking them into Boston. It was a great day, not
just because of the fun we had surprising my mom, and strolling through Boston Public Garden, but for the incredible photographs
I took which became paintings later on. This became one of my favorites (and was the first to sell at my opening November
8, 2003). There is more detail in this painting than is typical for my style, but the muse inside wanted the detail
so I went with the moment.
